Nails and Stuff

I can’t believe it has been almost a year since I wrote any Nailed it! posts. That is so, so wrong. Good news though, I have still been slapping on the polish making sure the finger and toes (mostly toes) look good. I have to say they have been looking mighty fine. I’ve been using lots of colours with bold designs that really pop.

This is what what toes look like right now.

AMAZING! I know, I know. Since I did this, I am getting a compliment like every other day from friends and random strangers alike. It is weird but pretty cool. At least it lets me know when I am doing something right. Its a pretty easy look to achieve with 6 polishes and striping tape.

Orange – Julep “Gigi” – these colours from Julep are pretty cool jelly polishes. They look like jello when they dry, very vibrant and a bit see-through, so on top of white they are practically electric/neon.

Fuchsia – Julep “Ari”

Blue – Julep “Delaney”

White – Julep “Brigitte”

Before that I was in a wedding party and needed to make sure my colours were toned down a bit. I did my hands and feet in the colours of the bridesmaid outfits; white, grey, blush pink, and sparkle.

My hands weren’t done the best as I was in a last minute rush to do them (they looked good as long as you weren’t too close) but my toes looked awesome.

As you can see the colours are flipped on the big toe to represent the bride and groom.

The looks weren’t too hard to do. I used 6 polishes, striping tape, and a dotting tool.

Spring took a long time to come around or maybe I should say winter took a long time to come around so spring was screwed. In the midst of trying to will spring to start and desperately wanting to wear sandals I did a spring look on my toes.

As you can see it was all about blue skies, flowers, and ladybugs. The look was achieved using 6 polishes, a thin brush, a dotting tool, and some whimsy.

Before that, trapped inside socks and tucked into a dark shoe, my nail art kind of matched. There were 2 designs that were nice looking but with very ridged designs and darker colours. There was this, with dark grey and burgundy.

I did a marbling technique on the big toe before doing the grey on top. It looked pretty cool but to me it looked like something was missing. I should try it again though. For this look I used 5 polishes, striping tape, and saran wrap.

Burgundy – Julep “Mary Lee”

Gray – Julep “Janae”

And then there was this with a gradient deep purple to white.

It kinda looks dirty, doesn’t it? But still pretty cool. Well I think so. For this look I used 5 polishes, striping tape, and a sponge.

Before it got all gloomy and cold and gray it was warm days and late nights. I only managed to get to the ballpark for 1 game last season but at least I can say I made it. I did my nails for the occasion.

It is fun to get into the spirit of the activity. Had my Blue Jays tee, Blue Jays visor, and Blue Jays nails. It all went together perfectly. For this look it took 5 polishes and a nail pen.

Apparently, earlier on I was feeling a little plaid, argyle to be exact.

This was a nice look that took a bit of effort but was totally worth it. I used 6 polishes, tape, a small brush, and a little but of patience.

And lastly, all the way back to last August my brother got married and the nails had to be on point. I decided they the fingers and toes did not have to match but they did have to look cool.

I did a cool blue and fuchsia gradient on the toes with a white stripe detail.

I got lots of compliments on this look. The vibrant nature of it just made it pop. I used 6 colours for this plus a sponge and striping tape.

My hands were a little more complicated.

Each finger was different as it was supposed to represent something. The white with sparkles was the bride, the tux was the groom, the gray with the gold was for the exchanging of rings, the black and purple (you can’t really see it) was me cu I was wearing black and purple, and the purple on the thumb was for all the guests. Full disclosure, the bride and groom were switched on my other hand.

This look took 8 polishes, a thin brush, a dotting tool, and some time.

I think I have covered everything that was missed.
