Blood, Blood everywhere let’s all take a drink … Or not

A pointed tooth here, a hypnotizing eye there and you had me at I want to suck … well let us leave it at that.

Perfect bodies and chiseled features – who needs mind control or  hypnotism anymore when just a good set of teeth , a nice smile and those bodies are enough to get people to do your bidding. Ever since I was young I had a fascination with vampires – I’ve always wanted to be one – they have a certain allure. I’ve since grown up and still find they have an allure and well I have no desire to drink blood I still think it would be cool to be a vampire. Vampires have come a long way since the early days of Nosferatu – a decrepit, hunchbacked, pale man who couldn’t step into the light of day.

I have to say that I agree with Alan Ball who says that vampires are sex. They have a mystique about them and they draw you in for one purpose, to taste you. While I enjoy the new sexiness of vampires I dislike it when they’re basic nature is changed and they’re too self controlled. Vampires should be reckless and self serving that’s what  leaves you in a state of exhilaration for the thrill of the chase, even though you know the outcome. Vampires make death erotic, I don’t know if there’s any other way to say it.

What’s not to like about them, they’re immortal – for the most part – stay away from sharp pointy objects. They manage to seduce whomever they desire. They have no sworn enemies – the whole werewolf thing as it turns out is a myth, and due to their immortality they stay young forever. WIN, win … win, win.  OH and they have super hearing and strength and on occasion other attributes as well, so from humble beginnings the vampire has turned from grotesque monster into the hottest person everyone wants to bed all in the span of a few decades.

Now if only we could do that with other things.
